Obituary of Thomas G. Williams

Adams - Thomas G. Williams, 76, Hungerford Ave., died Monday November 2, 2015 at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown following his battle with pancreatic cancer. His funeral service will be 12:00pm Saturday at the Adams Village Baptist Church, with Rev. David Rudd, pastor of the Union Church, Pierrepont Manor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pierrepont Manor Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at the Adams Village Baptist Church. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Born July 29, 1939 in Watertown, son of Leland and Edythe (Hamer) Williams, he graduated fromAdams High School in 1958. Immediately following graduation, Tom worked at Lunman’s Appliance, Adams for a year, then started his career in the paper industry working for J & FB Garrett Co., in Syracuse and thru acquisitions retired from Georgia Pacific Co in 2003. He married Ann McConnell of Pierrepont Manor on August 14, 1960 in the Union Church, Pierrepont Manor. The couple lived briefly in Syracuse before moving to their present home in 1964. Surviving besides his wife, is a son Thomas H. (Patricia), Adams Center; four daughters Kim (Joe) Ramus, Adams, Jennifer Lumley, Adams, Michelle (David) Roberts, Adams, Melissa Williams, Adams Center; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one sister Suzanne Williams, Watertown. He is predeceased by his parents, a sister Veronica Williams and a son in law, Douglas Lumley. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, especially basketball and soccer. Tom was well know for his gregarious and outgoing personality and conversation. He was a member of the Union Church, Pierrepont Manor, Alcoholics Anonymous, president of the Pierrepont Manor Cemetery Association He was a former trustee at the Country View Apartments, Adams and Village Trustee, Adams.
