Obituary of Judith A. Jerome

Judith A. Jerome, 69, of 87 E. Church Street, Adams, and formerly of Adams Center died on August 20, 2015 as a result of a car accident in the town of Ellisburg. Calling hours will be Tuesday, August 25th from 3:00 to 7:00pm at the Adams Center Baptist Church, Adams Center. The funeral service will be 11:00am Wednesday, August 26th at the Adams Center Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Sexton, nephew officiating. Family will be at the church at 10:00am to receive visitors prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery in Adams Center following the service. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Judy was born October 31, 1945 in Watertown, daughter of the late Raymond and Beatrice Hammond Jerome. She attended Adams Center Central School and graduated in 1963. She followed her dream of working in the medical profession and attended PBI in Minneapolis and received a Medical Assistant Degree. She returned to Adams Center to work for Dr. Roger Thompson. After leaving Adams Center she went to New York City to work for a Cardiologist. She returned home in 1980 to help run the Colonial Village Inn family restaurant. In 1982 she went to work for Dr. Richard Muller, then later Judy went to Syracuse to work for Dr. Thomas Gigantelli. She was there until her retirement. Judy was a member of the Adams Center Baptist Church where she held various offices. She was a New York Yankee fan, enjoyed playing a mean game of cards, cooking meals for others and giving tender loving care to the elderly. Her greatest joy in life was serving the Lord and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Judy was a very caring person with a big heart and will be greatly missed. Surviving are six brothers, Jerry and Peggy Jerome, Pemberton, NJ, Robert and Kate Jerome, Daniel Island, SC, Ronald and Sally Jerome, Dennis and Pam Jerome, Randy and Laura Jerome, and Timmy and Audrey Jerome, all of Adams Center; four sisters, Joanne and Pete Dick, Adams Center, Janice Jerome, Adams Center, Janet Durham, Newfane, NY, and Jacqueline Murphy, Virginia Beach, VA; twenty-two nieces and nephews, twenty-one great nieces and nephews, and two great great Nephews. Two brothers, Jackie and Billy Jerome died before her. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Adams Center Baptist Church, c/o Dawn Harrienger, PO Box 399, Adams Center, NY, 13606.
