Obituary of Ronald H. Dwyer

Adams Center - Ronald H. Dwyer, 84, died early Sunday morning at his home. There will be a graveside service at 1:30 pm Tuesday, June 23 in the Smithville Cemetery, with Rev. Cathy Hamilton officiating. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Born March 31, 1931 in Clayton, he attended schools in Belleville and CapeVincent. He married Margaret Overton of Smithville on December 20, 1947 in the Belleville Methodist parsonage, with Rev. Miles Hutchinson officiating. The couple lived in Ellisburg, Smithville and Adams Center. They owned and operated a farm on the South Harbor Road in Adams Center. He also received a machining degree from Remington Institute and began working at the New York Air Brake in 1950. While at the NYAB, he attended IBM’s management training seminars and was accepted at G.E. and completed their Manpower Development Program as Labor Relations and Human Resource manager. He retired in 1993 after 43 years. Surviving besides his wife Margaret, are two sons, Donald D. (Cheryl) Dwyer, Rodman, Daniel R. (Bonnie), Constantia; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister, Sharon Giddings, Tucson, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by one brother, Gerald Dwyer and one sister, Frances Hedger. Mr. Dwyer drove stock car for 10 years and enjoyed NASCAR.
