Obituary of Gladys I. Kammerer

Gladys I. Kammerer, 100, died Thursday evening September 11, 2014 at the Samaritan Keep Home in Watertown where she had been a resident since July 2014. There will be a graveside service Tuesday September 16th at 11:00 am in the Fairview Cemetery, Rodman. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Born August 26, 1914 in Rodman, daughter of Andrew and Ella (Roacher) Hatch, she attended school in Rodman. She married Otto John Kammerer on December 31, 1944. The couple lived in Oswego and surrounding areas where she was superintendent of North Star apartments in Liverpool before moving to the Watertown area. Mr. Kammerer died January 27, 1974. She moved to the Curtis Apartments in 1975 where she lived before moving to Samaritan Keep Home. Mrs. Kammerer is survived by her grand daughter, who was also her caregiver, Shirley O'Connor, along with numerous other grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two daughters, Evelyn Guernsey and Sally June McNeeley; two step sons, John and Benny Kammerer; one brother, Clarence Hatch; and four sisters, Lena Feisthamel, Kathryn Fry, Louise Lapp and Sarah Pauline House.
