Obituary of Beverly A. Wilson

Pierrepont Manor - Beverly A. Wilson, 71, died Saturday afternoon in the Oswego Hospital. Her funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, June 20, at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Rev. Linda Taber officiating. Burial will follow in the Rural Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be from 6:00-8:00 pm Thursday. Born September 20, 1942 in Watertown, daughter of Howard and Irene Wier McNett, she attended Adams High School. Following school she worked at at various department stores in Watertown that included Woolworth’s, K-Mart and Weston’s. She also worked at Pelton’s Red & White Store in Pierrepont Manor and Rod’s Big M in Sandy Creek. She married Lyle G. Taber of Sandy Creek on July 20, 1962 at the First Day Baptist Church in Adams Center. The couple lived in Pierrepont Manor all their married life. Mr. Taber died August 14, 1982. She later married Glenn ‘Joe’ A. Wilson Jr, of Lorraine on December 3, 1983. Mr. Wilson died March 5, 2012. Beverly entered the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown, in April 2014 before being transferred to the Pontiac Nursing Home, Oswego, in late May 2014. She is survived by one son, Eric Taber and companion Darby Depew, Pierrepont Manor; one daughter, Brenda Taber and companion Darryl Dobsin, Pulaski; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two brothers, Howard McNett, NC, Louis McNett, Sandy Creek, and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the OES Belleville Chapter, South Jefferson VFW Post 5344, American Legion Don Rounds Post 586 and past president and the Mannsville Fire Department Auxiliary. Beverly enjoyed bowling at the South Jefferson Lanes, knitting, crocheting, crafts and camping. She sold Avon products since 1965 and was known as the ‘Avon Lady’.
